Thirty Weeks!

Oh my gosh. There are only 10 weeks til Collins gets here! Ten! This pregnancy has gone by so fast and has been so smooth. I'm very blessed not to have had any problems up until this point.

I had an appointment this morning at 8:30am. This was the first one Jake hasn't been able to make it to :( Mondays are way too busy for him to try to go anywhere since he takes all his orders on Mondays.

Everything is going great! I had another Rho-gam shot because of my negative Rh blood type. That should be the last one until Collins is born...if his Rh factor is positive. This shot hurt far less than last time. Janie (Dr. Myers main nurse and my favorite nurse) gave this one. Apparently, that last woman was a little stick happy or something.

Collins' heart rate was 152 and my blood pressure was 132/80. I have gained a total of 30 lbs. I can handle that, as long as I don't pack on another 30 before it's over!

They did some routine lab work...I really don't remember what that was for. Something about antibodies I think.

The only negative about the appointment this morning was that I sat on that darn exam table for a whole hour...not exaggerating...exactly 60 minutes...waiting on the doctor to come in. This was after the nurse had left and not counting while the doctor was in there. I'm pretty sure something really important came up, but my gosh. Those tables aren't exactly the most comfortable things. She had two more minutes before I either started eating fruit out of my purse or even possibly attempted an escape.

Here are some pics of me at 30 weeks...belly included! My next appointment is July 30th...I start going every two weeks now!

I'll post pics of the nursery soon, but want to get it totally finished first. I love that room!

Spa Day!

Lana and Jessica came to Tuscaloosa yesterday for my spa day to celebrate Collins! We went to Nancy Taylor Day Spa and it was wonderful. I've only been there once before for a pedicure about three years ago. Yesterday was my first time to have a facial and I LOVED it! At one point I thought it was even better than a massage, but then the extraction part started which hurts just enough to make them even :) After our appointments we went to Fig for lunch and it was delicious. I thought I'd want the brunch, but that Asian salad was calling my name. We had dessert too...chocolate cobbler. Divine.

What's funny about these spa days is that every time we celebrate one pregnancy, someone else is pregnant too! At Lana's, Jessica had just found out she was pregnant; at Jessica's, I had just found out; and at mine, Lana is 13 weeks with her second! I told them I love how we keep having babies just to have an excuse to go to the spa ;)

Luke Braxton

Baby Luke was born to Katie and Braxton on June 24th...right at a month early! He was 5 lbs. 11 oz. and 18 inches long. There have been a couple of concerns since he was a premie, but you'd never know it from looking at him. He is so sweet! We went with Jake's parents to visit them at home last weekend. Luke was asleep the whole time so we didn't hold him, but every now and then one of us would get up to go over and have a closer look :) We're praying that everything keeps going well with his health.

Meeting Lily

I got to meet Lily last Saturday and visit with Courtney and Danny at their home. Lily is precious! The faces she makes crack me up and she is such a good, happy baby. She looks like her mommy and daddy right now...definitely has their hair color!

I picked up Subway for the three of us and stayed a couple of hours catching up while Lily caught some z's. It was fun getting to talk to Courtney. I miss her.

Courtney and Danny are such a sweet couple and are in LOVE with that little one! Who wouldn't be?! Look at her!

Bye-Bye Olivers :(

We had our last meal with the Olivers on Monday night :(

Not really...we'll still hang out, but this was the last with them while they are still Tuscaloosa residents. They're moving to Montgomery on Friday! I told them we had to go to DePalma's because that was where we had our first "date" and where we first met Beth. The Waids and Barnes joined us too and we had a good time!

Bryan and I worked together when we first moved here and they have been SUCH great friends and so much fun to be around. Beth is about a month behind me in her pregnancy (John Rivers Oliver is due October 26th!) When they first announced they were leaving I told them they couldn't because I'd already put them on the 'contact in case of emergency' list at preschools!

We're sad they won't be here anymore, but happy for them to be closer to home and for Bryan's new job. I guess ;)

We love you, Pookies!!!

28 Weeks...Only 12 More!

I was 28 weeks on the 28th! And I'm 28 years old. So I guess that was my golden pregnant day or something??

I am definitely growing! I have found three outfits in the past week that no longer fit, at least for public purposes. I feel most pregnant in the morning because it's getting really hard to get out of bed!

Collins has started moving a lot more lately...or maybe it's just that I'm feeling it a lot more. I think his elbows and knees are developing just fine! I also think I feel him having hiccups sometimes :)

His nursery is coming along nicely. I ordered a decal of his first initial and name to put above the crib, which came in this week. The curtains came in too, but we haven't put either up yet. Maybe tonight!

Sorry if the bare belly pics below gross anyone out. I don't put these on Facebook, but I feel like the blog is a little more personal so I'm more liberal with my pictures :) Just wanted to document the growth is all!

New Floors!

We have hardwood floors! I'm excited, if you can't tell. Our friends Ann and Scott helped us a TON with getting these. We went to the Shaw showroom in GA (Ann is a chemical engineer there) to pick them out a few months ago. We couldn't have done that without Ann and we couldn't have put them down without Scott. He came last Thursday night and stayed through Sunday morning. He even cut his finger on the saw first thing Friday morning, went to the ER, got seven stitches, then came back and kept on working. Wow. What great friends!

Mr. Philip came on Friday too and helped all weekend. I was kicked out because Jake didn't want me smelling the glue and we didn't want Hank in the way (although he was there with them during the day on Friday and was the perfect little prince!)

All three of these guys worked SO hard and were so tired. Every time I talked to Jake he sounded so tired and sad that I would wish I'd never asked for the floors! Jake had the hardest time getting up the existing hardwoods in the foyer. Ugh...it was awful. For a while he thought he'd have to hire someone to come in and do it, but a few tools later it was just a matter of [really] hard work. He complained a little about how hard it was, but never once made me feel bad. Well...he did say he considered divorcing me at one point, but I think that was a joke ;)

Now that they're finished (except for a few more transition pieces and the quarter-round), we both LOVE the result! Hank, not so much. He slides like crazy when he throws his fits. But we'll get him a rug soon :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you to my wonderful husband, Mr. Philip, Scott, and Ann for helping us do this!!

(The pic above was taken at night. They look darker at night than during the day, and really even a little darker in pictures than in person.)
