Jake Back Home/First Day at Westervelt

These pictures were taken back on July 8th, the day Jake came home for good! He didn't even have a phone for two and a half weeks, which was a nice change of pace for him. We are so glad to have him home so that he's with us and not sleeping in that bare, lonely house by himself anymore.

Today was his first day at Westervelt! He had a great day and feels like this will be a really good fit. We're thankful to be back in Alabama, and so thankful for all the blessings we've experienced in coming home.

Fishing

The boys went fishing at Mr. Robert's farm last Wednesday and did pretty good! Collins told me at least three times that he caught the most fish AND the biggest one of the day. Not at all competitive!

Jake said he had to just cut him off eventually. They woke up at 4am and Collins literally did not get tired all day. That night when I was telling him goodnight he said, "It was so much fun getting up that early." This can't be my child.

Independence Day

Daddy cooked his best ever drunk chicken, ribs, and peach cobbler!

She made her own patriotic shirt :)

Sweet brother built and painted a doll bed for his sister :)

Watching fire works at the river!

The flash was too much for him! He said, "I tried!"

Leftovers at Mimi's patio table. First time to use it for a family meal :)
