Happy Birthday at the Lake!
We went to Grammy and Poppa's for Jake's birthday weekend, but I think Collins celebrated more than anyone. He fished from about 7am to 7pm on Saturday, ate lunch on the pier, and didn't sit down at all. The boy LOVES fishing! He still hasn't caught a bass, but plenty of bream to keep him happy!
Grammy had a chocolate cake made for Jake and it was delicious, as were the steaks Poppa cooked that night and the fish they fried Sunday!
A little mishap...I flooded the toilet. And in doing so discovered a major problem with the pipes. It's fixed now, but it was stressful in the meantime, plus a few more stresses (like 15 sticky toys getting stuck in Hadley's hair) on top of that. I guess bad things happen in threes??
Anyway, 36th Happy Birthday, Jake!

V-Day School Parties
Jake had to be out of town for Valentine's Day, so we had chocolate candies for breakfast. And chocolate milk. And then I sent them to school to have donuts and pizza and gummies and more chocolate. It was a good day in the life of a certain six and three year old!

V-Day Cards
Granny and Granddaddy sent the kids V-Day cards and $5 each, and they LOVED them! Hadley doesn't even know where her money is right now, but she was still pumped!!
Had also signed her own cards for her class...with an H. She did all 20!

Community Helpers Field Trip
Collins had another field trip last week! He got to go around town and visit our community helpers: Tiger Rock (martial arts), Lowe's, the airport, fire department, the park...and they had Chick-Fil-A for lunch. A great day! It was during one of the career fairs, so I couldn't go and neither could Jake. He still had fun and his teacher said he behaved very well :)

Kids Mercedes Marathon
Collins ran a marathon! He did 25 miles over the course of PE classes, and the last mile on race day in Birmingham. Jake went ahead of us and ran a 5k, and wanted to run with Collins but wasn't allowed. Collins ran the mile in 8:47 (I believe)! He came in first in his school's kindergarten class and third overall of his school (K-2nd)! Very proud of that little dude :)

| None of these kids are Collins. I tried really hard to find him, but they were moving too fast! |
| We didn't see Mrs. Fanning until after the race. She was so proud of him! |
