How in the world has it been 8 months since my baby boy was born? This has, by far, been the fastest (and best!) year of my life.
Collins continues to be adorable (says his mommy). Some things he's doing lately are: squenching his nose at us when he smiles, showing
and grinding his teeth...ouch!, smiling or laughing at Hank every time he walks by, smiling so huge when he sees his daddy standing in the garage from his car seat, waving at us (just started this; he twists his little hand and it is so cute!), etc., etc., etc.
He has been waking up some at night and we'll rock him till he falls asleep, then the second he hits the mattress he wakes up again crying. Of course we love to cuddle him, but not necessarily at 2am. Jake has not been a fan of 'cry it out,' but I finally convinced him to try it last night. It took 45 minutes, but worked. Thank goodness. Jake was on the couch watching tv and I was at this computer looking at every Baby Center group I could find to make sure it was okay to let him cry. Hopefully, he will get better at getting himself back to sleep, but it may be a long journey.
Collins has added almost every fruit and vegetable to his diet. He also likes puffs, wants a sip of anything we drink, and has had a few bites of real banana. And I may have given him a taste or two of ice cream from the new Dairy Queen. We will start more real finger foods soon.
As I've mentioned in earlier posts, he's crawling everywhere. He just all of a sudden went from rocking to scooting. He can move! We have really got to finish baby proofing.
We love our little one so much!
