Hadley Happenings

  • "I love Santa Claus...he's old and silky!"
  • "I have a bad idea."
  • "I have a bad feeling" (said in car seat)
  • One day while we were riding home she kept wanting me to look at her. I finally said, "I can't, baby; I have to drive." She said, "Does the sign say don't look at children?" (because signs tell me when to stop, etc.)
  • One morning in her bedroom I heard her say so sweetly, "I love you SO much." I said, "I love you, too!" She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "I'm talking to football players..."

Wearing all purple for MawMaw!

  • When MawMaw and PawPaw took them to the bull riding event they stayed in a hotel. Before the trip I was explaining that she'd get to spend the night in a hotel and she said, "Like Elsa's?" I don't think it quite lived up to that castle, but she did love it!
  • Around Christmas time she came in the living room and announced, "I'm going to another home." We were curious as to where. She said she had a sack of toys for Lai Lai and she was going to take them to her. She had on shoes, lipstick, wet hair, and pjs.
  • "What do YOU want for Christmas?" she asked me one morning on the way to school!
  • "Tell when you...was...Dorfy" (the way she requests the story of The Wizard of Oz, but when I pretend to be Dorothy!)
  • During one prayer she said, "God, you are a good Shepard" after talking about it during our Meaningful Christmas ornament time. So sweet!

I love to nap with her! Lately she wants to take off her shirt to nap because she gets hot.

"Mom and Dad" just hangin' out!

  • "I'm gonna grow bigger...how tall my weigh pounds?"
  • "If Daddy dies the people will call the police" (her plan when Jake sneezed at Chicken Salad Chick!)
  • I asked if she wanted to take a bath or a shower. She said, "I just wanna be dirty; stay in my pajamas." I feel ya!
  • She tumbled out of the recliner and said, "See?! Dat's bull ridin."
  • "I blessed on you." when she accidentally sneezed on me!
  • "Daddy, did you go fishing for ducks?"
  • "Dow-sayyyy hike!" (down, set, hike)

The National Anthem :)

Crazy kids!

Pretending to be dead. I turned around and saw this.

  • I questioned her one afternoon in the car because I could tell she was not telling the truth about something. She responded, "Let's just not talk."
  • She prays for Kyieke (the bull rider) even at chapel sometimes; says "He's one of my boyfriends." Collins tells her she has too many boyfriends!
  • Thinks it's hilarious to say, "Knuckle head!"
  • Loves peanuts! And she associates them with Granny and Granddaddy!
  • "Dat didn't take for a long time!" (not a far ride)
  • "Are y'all wife?" (married)
  • We went grocery shopping one afternoon and she was riding in the buggy. She said, "What's this called? Homework?" (Instead of Wal-Mart) My answer was, "...kinda..."!
  • "Mama, we need to have a talk. I will be your friend forever. And....I'm gonna bring back summer." Score!
  • "Hans is a bad guy; he is a BAD...listener" (Hans is the bad guy on Frozen.)
  • One morning I told Hadley, "I have a work friend who lives right there. Her name is Cat." Nonchalantly, Hadley asked, "Does her have a gray face?" I said, "No...she's not a cat; her name is Cat"!

Sunday School class!

My little beauty :)

  • "Nevorhood" (neighborhood)
  • "I made da sin."
  • "This water smells like crickets."
  • "Seems to work!" (Daddy Pig from "Peppa Pig" says this!)
  • "Ohhh....I gotcha."
  • "Oh my word...I mean...Oh. My. Word."
  • I asked for a hug one night. She came in the room and said, "I already gave you a kiss and a hug...I'm tired."
  • At least one time she thought I work at CVS (I guess because it's letters like UA!)
  • "I'll be the driver and you be the sitter." (passenger!)
  • "Don't be rude; but God forgives us." (in case you want to be rude anyway?!)

The breakfast she requested one morning?!

New carpet and bed in her room!

  • I was drying her off after her bath one night while she was laying on my bed. She started singing a song she was making up. "My little ha-wart (heart); My little hawart; You think I'm precious but I'm na-wat (not)." Oh wow!
  • One day she didn't like the story I told her and said, "That's a crusty story."
  • Asks people, "What's your first last name?" (she means last name!)
  • "We had some cold cream at school today!" (ice cream)

I love this! There's a drawing by Collins very similar to this one (at the same age).

  • The child woke me up one morning at 1:30am. When I went in her room and asked her what's wrong she had the nerve to say, "I'm tired." What?!
  • "Mama, member when I was Dorothy and you were the witch and Collins was...I don't know...and daddy was nothing?" (Halloween this year!)
  • One morning I put on some lipstick and turned around to ask her if it looked okay. She said, "Oh yes; you look beautiful. You always look beautiful!" I said, "Aww, Had! You're such a good encourager!" She said, "And I'm a good painter...and play doher...and cooking lady"!

She looks so grown up here!

Her new ball field friend, Olivia :)

  • Hadley turned 3.5 years old on February 25! She is a tad sassy right now at times, and we definitely have our 'three-nager' moments. But mostly she is as sweet as pie! I love putting her to bed and waking her up in the morning because she talks to me and lets me snuggle on her. She loves, loves, loves chocolate milk in the mornings. We don't let her have more than the morning cup and a cup at lunch because she struggles with reflux/constipation. I am praying she'll outgrow the reflux eventually. We're currently still taking Ranitidine twice a day, and I added a fiber pill, kefir, and sometimes Miralax to help with the other. Hadley mostly wears a size 4T in clothes and a size 8.5 or 9 shoe. She is fun and funny and tender-hearted. I am so thankful I get to be her mommy!

Spring Break 2017

Monday:

We took Mrs. Mary Loyd to the train station! Hadley got lazy pronouncing her name and started calling her "Mrs. Mallory"! It was so cold on Monday! We went to the ENT that afternoon to see about C's nose bleeds, and I bribed them with the promise of a CFA milkshake on the way home!

Dinner with my sweet family!

Tuesday:

We went to All Fired Up! This was the first time Hadley's ever been and the first time for me to paint.

Playing in a fort.

S'mores!

Wednesday:

Drinking chocolate milk and watching cartoons in the fort :)

Breakfast at the Waysider! I told them Coach Bryant used to eat there a lot and Hadley couldn't believe he was dead. "Coach Bryant's dead?! He diiied?!?" she yelled for the whole restaurant to hear ;)

Chuck E. Cheese!

Collins had batting practice Wednesday afternoon. Jake and I took him while Hadley stayed at our house with Grammy!

Dinner at Burger Fi with Grammy!

Thanks to Nanny and Aunt Janis for the chef's outfit!

They tried to sleep together while Grammy was here and in H's bed. Didn't last long. But they did make it all night in the same room once Collins moved to the top bunk :)

Thursday:

Haylee came home!

"A cool trick."

Once Grammy and the kids headed to MS, Haylee and I went for coffee and a little shopping downtown.

Jalapenos with Jake and Haylee.

Friday:

Collins and Poppa fished ALL day!

Jake painted our former changing table/dresser in the kids' room and moved it to our room! He also built the media box to hide the ugly stuff :) Jake went with Haylee, Mom, and me to Chuck's that night for dinner.

Saturday:

No such thing as too much fishing!

Saturday night at Harvest Grill in Meridian.

Sunday:

Granny and Granddaddy came to MRBC and sat with us!

Every kid that's ever gone to MRBC has climbed on that tank!

Love this!

Uncle Joe and Aunt Tammy met us for brunch at Weidmann's!
