DC Trip

Our annual DC trip was June 20-22 this year. Amy started out feeling not-so-great, but it passed pretty quickly. Her sister, Kristin, joined us this time! I wish Haylee could have come too, but maybe next year all the sisters will be available!

Dinner at Teddy's in Georgetown. We've determined we love Georgetown.

Meanwhile, back in Northport...

It stormed right before the event Tuesday night. That's a picture of the Capitol building...can you see it?! Fortunately, it only lasted a little while and people still showed up!

Pictures taken from the rooftop! I've been doing this for about 8 years and finally got to experience the rooftop!

Waiting for our Uber driver :)

While we were doing UA in DC, Jake managed to get Collins to baseball practice (three times) and Hadley to dance class!

Father's Day

Father's Day was Sunday, June 19th. We had a great morning, great church service where we totally blanked and didn't remember to greet at the second service, and then we headed to the ball field to finish up (and win!) an all-stars tournament!

We are so thankful for this sweet, loving, hard-working daddy of ours.

That's a fishing pole :)

Conversations with Collins

  • "Serious?!"
  • I picked him up from school one day, having already told him we'd go buy new shoes that afternoon. He saw me and the first words out of his mouth were, "New shoes, here I come."
  • "Mama, I was gonna say a bad thing right now, but I put a guard over my mouth" (frequent!) also, "Mama, I want to pick a fight with Hadley right now, but I'm using the shield of faith" (we learned about the armor of God during a Green Village ministry).
  • "If witches have tongues and they swallow spit, will they die??!"
  • "Mama, you scared my life!" when I accidentally startled him!
  • When I was packing for the Rivals Retreat at MSU, Collins noticed my cowboy hat (borrowed from our neighbor). I explained why I needed it and he said, "Ohhh...so you're gonna be a cowgirl?" I said, "Yeah, I guess so." He told me, "Well. I hope you're good at it."
  • "When are you gonna squish it?" referring to me enlarging a picture on my phone (pinching)
  • "Mama, my phone number is 5715...you like it?"
  • One day while out and about I couldn't find him for about a split second in a store. When we made eye contact he smiled and said, "Nobody took me yet!"
  • "MawMaw, hands up." He meant head's up.
  • I commented one morning that I didn't see that car coming, so I had to pull out and drive fast. He sais, "Was it camo?"
  • On June 7th, the Tooth Fairy came to visit Collins, and once again, she utterly disappointed him by leaving a dollar and some change. He said, "I knew it" and started crying. I asked what he was hoping for. "I wanted six!" We talked about how he got $5 for his first tooth, but that the Tooth Fairy saves those for special times, like kids' first teeth. Whatever, I'm sure the Tooth Fairy is a great mom.
  • Again with the money thing...MawMaw said he grabbed her ipad one day and said, "Siri, I want more money; how do I get it?" He scours the ground for pieces of 'treasure' (change) in any parking lot. We may have our hands full with this one!
  • The other morning he woke up and said, "Mama? What day...when am I gonna die?" I said, "Wow, I don't know; probably a long time from now." He said, "I had a dream I was gonna die on Tuesday." Freaky! I asked, "What would happen if you die?" to see how he was feeling about it. He said, "You'd be sad." I said, "Right, but you wouldn't be! You'd be with Jesus!" And that's all we said about that for now!

The blue room! Preuitt, Ethan, Sawyer, Cara Grace, Alexa, Bailey, Brooke, Emma Claire, Madison, Zell, ?, Mrs. Anna, Stone, Barrett, Carson, Collins, Journey, Sam, and Mrs. Susan

Wearing the house coats Jake's Mamaw made for him!

Love getting one last wave at my buddy in the mornings!

Collins' and PawPaw's score card!

Collins and Preuitt (and Bailey)

Long time ago, but don't think I ever posted. First practice of the season on the Braves team!

Celebrating Mama's birthday!

Love this sweet boy :)

I made a face. I included it because I'm kinda proud. And it was Collins' lunch I was making (he loves raw bell pepper!), so I put it on his post. Ha!

What a nut!

One of many flowers my baby boy picked for me :)

The Tuscaloosa Barnyard came to preschool! Collins wore one of his Barnyard shirts and Mrs. Kami gave him a free pass!

One of our dates (at 4pm); last Saturday at Chuy's. Dates with this little guy are so much fun!

We saw a "scary duck with a red eye" and some ducklings!

The date ended at Krispy Kreme!

Silly, silly boy and his nightly rituals!

My favorite right fielder at practice :)

He wants to tie those shoes SO badly, and we are just not good teachers :/
