Mama's Birthday

My sweet family made me a steak dinner and a homemade chocolate cake for my birthday! And they gave me some perfume I've been wanting (Angel). Great day!

Coronovirus = Homeschooling & Social Distancing

First day! First 5 minutes, actually, and already a question ;)

We start every morning with the three pledges, Scripture, and a few worship songs. It's evolved to me singing, Hadley dancing, and Collins playing the guitar!

Nature walk.

We do 15 minutes of reading at least twice a day. It is a struggle.

Reenacting how she helped around the house (as part of an assignment).

Hadley's lesson plans the first week...it has relaxed a little since then!

See the bunny!?

It helps when you can read in a tree.

Collins has taught Had how to hit a ball! And catch a ball. And throw a ball. And fight like a ninja. And cast a fishing pole. And track down rabbits and deer in the woods. And hit a golf ball. And swing from a tree. And tie a shoe. And almost ride a bike with no training wheels!

But it's tiring learning all that stuff!

PE!

We notice the geese fly over our house almost every day!

She is so "stylish"! :)

The boy LOVES to wrestle his daddy!

Not the most excited about Ellie's b-day party. (Ellie is H's stuffed elephant lovey.)

Adding lipstick before the party...

He made a primitive weapon...that looked like the coronovirus!

Making plant thingys Granny gave them for Christmas!

Window Art

A little frustrated with the casting...

We sat in the truck and watched them 'fishing'; caught Jake clapping for Hadley :)

Beautiful trees!

She made a purse with the sewing machine Haylee, Jonathan, and Chance gave her for Christmas! (Collins helped with that, too.)

Dancing!

This is a bird or squirrel trap. It didn't exactly work.

That's an old gum container that had water and a minnow in it.

No hands!

Laityn!

Collins took notes during children's church! We let them go upstairs and watch the kid one while we watched the regular service, but told them we were gonna ask what the lesson was about, haha!

Jake handed him to me so I could hold him again :)

Zooming with Mrs. Strong!

There's Wrenne!

And Lilly H.!

Showing Jake his plans for a ninja course in our backyard.

The best little mommy!

The best monkey ;)

The Lord's Supper on Palm Sunday. First Redeemer Church.

We let Hadley partake since she's a believer who just hasn't been baptized yet :)

He can cook quesadillas now!

Mrs. Luann and Mr. Jorge gave them some sidewalk chalk!

Finished the to-do list!

Social distancing looks like this a lot, too! Probably too much. Oh well.

Hadley drew a cat. And it's private parts. That girl...

On a neighborhood walk with my boy!

Found the net they left at the pond over a week ago. He also found his sunglasses at the park after several days. Lucky boy!

Collins did a great job washing my car! He earned money for it, too!

This lasted maybe two minutes.

I love her hair like that!

Jake paying him :)

Clean room!

Playing Guess Who!

We saw Ethan and Liam at the playground. We're not good at being around people and keeping away from them, so we usually try to avoid being there at the same time.

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery!

Wish this scene would change...ha!

On a call with Westervelt! :)

Working amongst the chaos.

Sent from H's teachers. She immediately cut it up and crafted it into a mobile (that never got hung).

Collins' work

Changing it up again!

Mrs. Strong and Mrs. Yeste's morning meeting (9am).

Collins' project...he made a robot out of different shapes (octagon, rhombus, trapezoid, etc.)

I love that little fist! Hadley's handwriting has improved a lot this year!

One of Collins' weekly math checklists.

Collins' science and writing assignment. He had to make a solar oven, make s'mores, and then write about it. I'm so glad they combined some things like that!

Hadley's art assignment was to create a new character. She made Lizzie Bunny!

It worked!

Hadley's reading and science lesson...read about an ocean animal. Then she had to write about it, draw a picture, and label it.

Collins meeting with Mrs. Remenick, one of the school counselors. She was a guest at Mrs. Keen's afternoon meeting one day (2pm). The kids' afternoon meetings were optional, so we only did one or two a week. They get in the way of playing!

I started making checklists for them near the end. Not sure why I didn't do that sooner!

Hadley's 'flat Mrs. Strong and flat Mrs. Yeste'! They did a bingo sheet with different adventures, like: Have dinner with us, make breakfast with us, take us on a bike ride, etc.

Reading his night time devotion. On the dresser.

Hadley's art she did for her specials class. She said it's a mountain with a little bit of gold in the middle (she was inspired by my painting in our dining room!)

I was not going on another walk/ride with a baby doll because I always end up holding her. So Jake babysat!

This one was, 'Introduce us to a special toy.' Ellie is as special as they come!

Face Timing with his girlfriend, Aliannah :)

Hadley made this sign to go with her goodbye video one of the moms is making for the teachers. She put it by this pretty rose that came up in the backyard. Then she said, "It kinda looks like they're dead..."

Hadley learned to braid one day down by the creek! ha!

Face Timing guess who ;)

Sweet babies spending the night together!

I love those little piggies!
