The last weekend in April, Lana and I got the amazing opportunity (thanks to Jake's travel points and both our husbands' taking care of kids) to go to Destin, FL together. We had not been to the beach together since college days, so about 15 years! And it was our first time ever to go only with each other. Jessica was originally part of this plan, but she is expecting her fourth baby and thus, a little busy. She will get kidnapped for the next trip!
We left on Thursday after Hadley's talent show, and Lana and I pulled up at my house at the exact same time. We ate at Chicken Salad Chick and hit the road. It was such a relaxing trip. She and I can talk without ever running out of topics, but are totally comfortable with silence, too. The beach was windy and too cold to get in the water, but we got a great beach day the first day and a little more time the second day (but were slightly burned, so that worked out!) We shopped a little two different nights, and of course, ate whatever we wanted!
I am so thankful for this time with my best friend!

| First night at Pompano Joe's, where the have grilled snow crab! |
| Going in for ice cream, which we ate (fast) poolside! |
| Second night at Louisiana Lagniappe |
| We meant to eat brunch at Great Southern Cafe in Seaside, but we got there right as they were switching to lunch. |
| ...so I had coffee, grits, and a cheeseburger! |

| Our view! |
| With the fresh key lime pie we bought in Seaside. We fell in love with this on our last trip and were determined to get more! |
| The wind blew Lana's hat off her head, it hit me in the face, and then landed in the pool! |
| Waiting on our table at the Back Porch on the last night |
| So glad I got some pics with her and my kids before she drove home! We all need another day to play together, now that we've satisfied the moms only need. |
| A few of my favorite people! |
