Dr. Seuss' birthday is March 1st and the kids got to celebrate with green eggs and ham (yuck) for breakfast at school. Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade participated in the book character parade. No parade for Collins this year, but he got to do the second grade wax museum event. Hadley dressed up as a cheerleader from her Hello, Big Al book!
Silly girl! Hadley read a book at school that talked about two boys making cat masks out of paper sacks. She became inspired, but instead of just a cat mask, she called it a cat party! Complete with paws, you'll notice :)
Hadley had a field trip on February 20, and she went without Jake or me...which she wasn't happy about! She did great though, and it was a local trip. They visited the fire station, recycling center, and Tiger Rock, the martial arts center. She was most nervous about Tiger Rock, and I finally got her to explain it was because she thought she'd have to wear a karate outfit and headband!
The day before V-Day I bought and gave them these balloons. They LOVED them! These are pictures they staged to always remember their balloons even when they deflate. I had no idea they'd be such a hit!
PawPaw is officially retired! His last day to work was in January. His company had a celebration for him the day before Grandparents Day, so we got to share that giant golf cake with him! And, last weekend after Had's Grandparents Day, PawPaw and MawMaw spent the night with us and Jake grilled steak, fried shrimp, and arranged for Maw's delicious chocolate cake as dessert (thank you, Maw!) It was fun and we're all proud of and excited for him! Congrats, PawPaw!
It was also a little bit Jake's birthday party, ha!
