We celebrated Sean and Amber's new baby girl, Vivi Claire, this past Sunday! She is due next month and is already so loved!

Also got to celebrate Rebekah and Wes' baby boy, Barrett, on Saturday. He is due in July, too!

Hadley Happenings

  • I can't exactly remember why we were watching boxing with our two-year-old, but one day we were. Hadley said, "Him got an egg." She was referring to a mouth piece!
  • Counts to "20-teen."
  • I asked her one day, "Is that a good cookie you're eating?" She said, "Yes ma'am! What did you have for lunch?" (snack)
  • She's a bit motivated by the possibility of time-out and is aware of bad choices. Doesn't stop her completely, but she's aware ;)
  • "There's outside!" when we see the playground in the mornings going into preschool. Laura said, "Yeah, I didn't think about that; we just always call the playground outside!"
  • Loves to watch "Bero Six" (Big Hero 6), "Billy" (Where the Red Fern Grows), and DVR! Also a big fan of Peppa Pig right now. Taking a break from The Wizard of Oz.
  • "I'm tuna-half (two-and-a-half)...I'm geddin' big!" When asked what she's gonna do when she gets big: "Sit in Collins' seat" (car seat).
  • Can't pronounce switch. I'll break it down and say "ssss" "witch." She says, "ssss" "fwitch."
  • Wants to swim in the BIG puddle! (swimming pool!)
  • Loves "Winnie a Pooh"
  • Playing in her kitchen I asked, "What can we have for breakfast?" Hadley said, "Muffins with mom!!"
  • "There's Old McDonald!!" when she stood on the bench and could see the McDonald's arches from our yard :)
  • Playing bad guys in the car: "I pow'd you, Daddy; ooh dead!"
  • Loves, loves, loves "chottit milt"!
  • I heard her yell one morning "Crescendo!!" (watching "Little Einsteins" before school!)
  • "I graduated!" because her brother did :)
  • "I got a shadow." She meant an eyelash. She gets eye shadow and eyelashes confused!
  • One morning I drove just her to school and we were talking about the men working on top of a building. She said she would catch them if they fall. I said, "Oh! You'd be a hero!" to which she replied, "I not Pider Man; I Captain America."
  • One afternoon when I was picking them up at preschool, she and Collins were both playing with Mr. Potato Heads. Hadley's creation had eyes everywhere. I said, "What is that, Had?!" She said, "An octonaut." (a cartoon)
  • I struggled one morning to pick her up going into preschool because I was holding all kinds of gear. She said, "Ooh pitty heavy, Mama."
  • Still says, "I wanna hold you" and we have yet to correct her.
  • "I spy with my little eye...dtt dtt dtt dtt" (stalling, like I apparently do!)

Sweetest little baby feet!

Trying on ballet shoes with Miss Marley!

She got to ride in the front seat from the pool to our house!

At Children's Hospital of Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. We went to see Dr. Mestre about Hadley's reflux issues. We're staying on the same dosage of Ranitidine (Zantac; 5 mLs twice a day), and also adding Baclofen (2.5 mLs three times a day) to hopefully constrict the lower part of the esophagus. If that doesn't correct the problem, we'll do a scope and possibly a Ph probe.

Loved riding in the wagon!

We sure do love that Mrs. Anna!

Watching Collins at an all-stars practice game!

Sharing her baby with baby Cason!

Mmmm! Krispy Kreme...and sprinkles!

Modeling her outfit made by Granny!

Haddie art! (blow fish)

First Ballet Class!

My Hadley Lauren took her first ballet class on Tuesday, June 7th! It was precious. I changed her at preschool and got her in Collins in the car, then we met Daddy at ABJ (Academy of Ballet and Jazz).

She wanted to be held while we waited in the lobby. She saw and recognized Miss Marley from when we bought shoes and tights a few weeks ago, and told her "Hey Marley!" Hadley looked around at all the other little ballerinas and told me, "I'm shy at ballet." I told her that was okay, and that probably everybody is a little shy because it's everybody's first time doing ballet. We talked to a few moms and girls, then Hadley told me, "I'm ready to dance!"

Her teacher's name is Ms. Kristen and another big girl was in there too. I don't know that girl's name, but Collins wants to marry her.

Hadley did such a great job! One little girl cried the whole time, and that was my fear...but no tears from Haddy Boo! She actually tried a couple of times to comfort that little girl! She raised her hand to answer questions, volunteered to go first, and paid attention really well.

Her shoes came untied once and I saw (through the rather small one-way glass window everyone was crowded around) Ms. Kristen just tuck the strings into her shoes. Why didn't I think of that?

At the end, Hadley got a sticker and a stamp! So proud of our tiny dancer :)
