Sweet 16 in Destin

Jake and I celebrated 16 years of marriage on November 20th! It was the best trip we've had and the weather was so perfect. Thanks to MawMaw & PawPaw and Grammy & Poppa for keeping our babies for us so we could go on this trip. We originally wanted to do a 15 year trip, and we did...but it was to New Orleans with his work folks! Ha. We're thankful for the do-over :)

Surprised me with a new band. I love it!

My gift to him was not quite as romantic as a ring! But he's been wanting a flag to hang in the garage. This one was made by my friend from ECCC, Missy's, husband, Casey. He's about to be a Captain in the US Air Force, so that and the fact we know them makes it even more special :)

Dinner the first night at Boshamp's. So good! All the food was, so I guess I won't say that every time! We had sauteed crab claws, blackened grouper, and oysters at Boshamp's.

Thankfully, a Starbuck's was near us in the hotel, so it was always a good morning :)

When we went to Destin for our 10 year anniversary, the weather was beautiful, but not as good as this trip. It was at least close to 80*! No lines or waiting, but otherwise felt like summer most of the time. There were some sand flies (or whatever you call them). Those are annoying because they bite, but that was the only negative!

Late lunch on Friday at the Back Porch.

So beautiful! No seaweed, and I think we only saw one shell! ha! Some people played in the water a lot. Too cold for me, but I did walk in it some.

Dinner on Saturday night at the Red Bar (we had brunch that morning at Crackings and it was great too...no picture there). The Red Bar had burned down to the ground last year and you'd never have known it. Amazing.

Jake had the grouper and I had crab cakes. Delicious!

This is to make fun of people who put 'candid' photos on social media and it's really obvious they were very intentional poses. I sent this and a million hashtags (also to make fun) to Beth ;)

Happy girl!

Look how magnificant.

Dinner the last night at Shunk Gulley in Seaside (or Watercolor?) It was recommended by my friend at UA, Litsa, and did not disappoint!

We rode to Rosemary Beach for the first time on Sunday for breakfast. Lots of people there! This was a farmer's market we rode by.

Breakfast at Cowgirl Kitchen, another of Litsa's recommendations.

Shopping for our kiddos!

Stopped by the outlets on the way home to do some Christmas shopping, and look what I found. HAAGEN DAZS! This is the best ice cream in the world. This flavor is Belgian Chocolate. There used to be a store in Destin, but it closed. I hadn't had it there since college, and IT'S BACK! Jake agreed; best chocolate ice cream ever. :)

Just a pretty sight on the way home from the best trip.

Bass Pro Birthday Shopping

Haddie Got to Hunt!

She looked at herself in the mirror and said, "I look cute. as. pie!"

Jake told her she looked cute and she said, "I know, right?!"

Jake said she asked, "What time do the deer come out?"

Collins' Doe_Youth Weekend

Collins and Jake woke up early last Saturday morning and went hunting! It was youth weekend and it paid off! He's so proud to fill the freezer :)

Hadley and I were at Wal-Mart picking up groceries when they got back. He was so excited to show us!

Glow Day

Fourth graders have 'Glow Day' every year where they combine learning with glowing. That's about all I recall about what Glow Day means, ha! In anticipation of it, Spencer's (the MSU fan!) mom, Kathryn, invited Mims and Collins over one afternoon to make glow-in-the-dark shirts. They didn't know what it was all about at first, but after the teacher announced it they were prepared!

Gymnastics!

Hadley started gymnastics at Tuscaloosa Tumbling Tides last week! Tonight is her second class. When she came out she said, "That was SO much fun!"

Evaluation with Coach LuAnn (owner)

A little timid at first, but not for long!

Aliyah (from kindergarten at Northport) is in her class!

Giving high-fives with Aliyah :)
